About me

Kate grew up in rural East Anglia, moving to Leicestershire in 1990 to attend university. She has a BA Hons in Arts Management, and over a period of nearly 20 years worked for the East Midlands office of Arts Council England, the England-wide team of the Lottery Community Fund and numerous local authorities across Leicestershire.

Since 2012 Kate has specialised in trust administration, supporting a large portfolio of charities and not-for-profit organisations with their governance requirements. She has significant expertise in charity administration, governance and finance together with policy, strategy and organisational development. Kate also has specialist expertise in all aspects of grant-making.

A professional writer, Kate has a passion for clear, accurate and accessible written information. Her outstanding linguistic and numeracy skills led her to become a contestant on Channel 4’s Countdown in 2012. Kate is also the author of two books of poetry, and has led numerous creative writing workshops in schools and the wider community.

Kate lives in south Leicestershire and has a somewhat eccentric husband, a teenage son and two cats. By necessity, therefore, she also has a strong sense of humour.
