I grew up in rural East Anglia, moving to Leicestershire in 1990 to attend university. I have a BA Hons in Arts Management, and over a period of nearly 20 years worked for the East Midlands office of Arts Council England, the England-wide team of the Lottery Community Fund and numerous local authorities across Leicestershire.
Since 2012 I have specialised in trust administration, supporting a large portfolio of charities and not-for-profit organisations with their governance requirements. I have significant expertise in charity administration, governance and finance together with policy, strategy and organisational development. I also have specialist expertise in all aspects of grant-making.
As a professional writer, I have a passion for clear, accurate and accessible written information. I am the author of two books of poetry, and have led numerous creative writing workshops in schools and the wider community. My linguistic and numeracy skills led me to become a contestant on Channel 4’s Countdown in 2012. I also enjoy amateur photography (you can see a few examples of my photographs on this website)!
I live in south Leicestershire, and have a somewhat eccentric husband, a teenage son and two cats. By necessity, therefore, I also have a strong sense of humour.
